WHAT IS “ALIVE”This e-zine revolves around the theme of Billy Hargrove being ALIVE.The zine welcomes all contributions from fans in the form of original fics, art, comics and cosplays. The creations can be canon derivative, fix-it, full AU—you name it. As long as our boy is alive, you’re good. Fics and art can also be made as “mockumentaries”: interviews and articles with art as editorial “photos”.ARE SHIPS ALLOWED?Yes, all Billy ships, romantic or platonic, with other characters from Stranger Things canon are allowed (as long as they are within content guidelines).All creations must be Billy centric.jOINING THE ZINEThe zine is free for all to join. Please go to the front page to sign up.Registration is open until 30 April 2026.You must be 18 years old to contribute to the zine.COLLABORATIONSYou can sign up as a team. While collaborations are very welcome and encouraged, they’re not required.Only one collab per participant is allowed. Even though we would love to have everyone do as many works as possible to the zine, we need to limit the number of works somehow a little.Note: you still must sign up as individuals for the mod team to keep up with communications or if either one of you drops out.YOUR WORKUpon sign up you agree to create one (1) fanwork. Only one work allowed per participant, no matter whether you do a collab or not.You can start creating as soon as your sign up has been confimed by the mod team.CONTENT GUIDELINESThe work can be:- written fic/mockumentary (interview, article, etc)
- original digital/traditional art
- original comic
- cosplayNote: In case you use photographs in your work, please make sure to use either ones you own the rights to, public domain or creative commons ones. Official promotional shots for the show can be used.All works must be finished pieces, no WIPs allowed. - AI generated contentThe zine is meant for everyone. If you’re unsure of the appropriateness of the theme for your work, please contact the mod team on any platform we’re on.SAME IDEASAll participants are free to discuss their ideas on the Discord server.In case you for some reason don’t join the zine Discord, since everyone should send us their idea for their creation before they start creating, we’ll keep a track on them.In case someone with the same role (author/artist/cosplayer) submits a similar idea to one that’s already been submitted, we’ll contact the one who submits their idea later and ask for a modification to it.In case the idea is by someone who has signed up in a different role, we’ll ask both if the works can be included in the layout close together.In case not, again, the later one needs to modify their idea.TIMETABLEYou can start creating immediately after your sign up has been confirmed by the mod team.- Two progress check-ins take place on 10 May 2026 and 7 June 2026.
- All finished works should be sent to the mod team for a review by 30 June 2026.
- If the mod team finds that there’s anything needing modification, the mod team will let you know. You have until 12 July 2026 to fix the issues.WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKEThe zine will be put together in the format of an e-magazine and it’ll be available for free as a pdf you can print out yourself.COMPENSATIONThe Artist/Author will receive a high quality, print-ready pdf-file of Creator’s Edition of the Zine including special electronic merch.COMMUNICATIONS1. Welcome emailYou’ll get a welcome email from the mod team soon after you sign up. It includes a lot of important information regarding the project.Please read it and save the information so you can find it when you need it.If you don’t receive the welcome email within a few days from signing up, shoot us an ask, DM, or email us at billyezine[a]gmail.com2. DiscordAll communication after welcoming is primarily done through Discord. You need to give us your username so we can send you an invitation.In case you don’t have Discord, we’ll communicate with you through email.Note: In case you prefer communicating through email but fail to respond to our queries within a reasonable time, you will be dropped.Mod team- Suo - head mod / layout & writer mod
